Museum Introduction
Established in 1984 by the Government of Kerala as an autonomous organization, this museum serves as a dynamic medium for science communication. It aims to inculcate a sense of inquiry and scientific temperament, particularly among the youth, through interactive exhibits across various disciplines of science and engineering.
General Collections
The museum features ten specialized galleries, including Popular Science, Space, Astronomy, Computer, Electronics, Automobile, Electrical, Mathematics, and Robotics. It also includes an Evolution Park, Butterfly Park, and a specialized Cactus and Succulents Park.
Unique Historical Collections
The complex is home to the Priyadarshini Planetarium, one of the most advanced in the country. Key features include the Science On Sphere (SOS), a Night Sky Observatory, and a specialized Driving Simulator. It also operates the Astrovan and a Mobile Science Exhibition for community outreach.
