Located in the historical Darbar Hall of the Kutchery complex, this museum was established to preserve the royal heritage of the Babi Nawabs of Junagadh. The building itself is a part of the 19th-century palace architecture and served as the venue for the Nawabs' official assemblies. It is one of the most significant repositories of Nawabi-era history in Gujarat.
The collection includes a vast array of royal artifacts such as silver thrones, palanquins, ivory carvings, and antique furniture. It also houses an extensive armory and a gallery of oil paintings featuring the portraits of various Nawabs.
The museum features a magnificent collection of 19th-century chandeliers, including massive Belgian glass pieces. It also houses the "Howdahs" (elephant seats) made of silver and gold-plated ornaments used by the royalty during state processions.
