Founded to document the legacy of the Neo-Vaishnavite movement, the museum highlights the life and teachings of Srimanta Sankardeva and Madhabdeva. It serves as a bridge between the historical Satra (monastery) culture and modern Assamese identity.
The collection includes over 450 artifacts, featuring ancient manuscripts, traditional Assamese jewelry, bell-metal utensils (for which Barpeta is famous), wooden masks used in Bhaona (folk theater), and indigenous musical instruments.
Sanchi Bark Manuscripts: Rare 16th and 17th-century religious texts written on the bark of the Sanchi tree. Satranagari Artifacts: Ritualistic objects donated by various local Satras, including silver-inlaid thrones and copper vessels used in religious ceremonies.
