Originally established in 1958-59 by the Archaeological Association of Panna, the museum moved to its current home in the Hindupat Mahal in 1988. It serves as a guardian of the region's rich Bundela heritage, preserving artifacts that range from ancient stone carvings to royal weaponry.
The museum houses a wide array of Shaiva, Shakta, and Vaishnava sculptures, along with Jain idols, ancient coins, and stone inscriptions. The exhibits are a blend of religious art and secular history, including items related to the daily lives of the Bundela kings.
Bundela Architecture: The museum itself is a prime exhibit, showcasing the Uttarabhimukhi (North-facing) Bundeli architectural style. Vintage Armory: A notable collection of heavy cannons and traditional Bundela weapons like Talwars and Katars are displayed in the palace courtyard.
