Museum Introduction

The museum showcases the evolution of human civilization in the Deccan from the Paleolithic era to the Vijayanagara period. It is divided into three primary sections: Archaeological, Sculptural, and Bronze/Decorative, reflecting the region's diverse dynastic influences.

General Collections

The collection includes stone tools (50,000 BCE), Megalithic pottery, and iron implements. It also houses early historic materials from the Satavahana times, medieval miniature paintings, and modern art.

Unique Historical Collections

Bodhan Gold Hoard: A significant collection of Vijayanagara-era gold coins unearthed at Bodhan. Brahmi to Telugu Chart: A unique educational chart tracking the evolution of the Telugu script from the 3rd century BCE to the 16th century CE.
