Located near the Danteshwari Temple at Gol Bazaar, the museum was founded to protect and display the vast collection of idols and inscriptions scattered throughout Bastar. It provides a chronological journey through the region's history, showcasing its transition through various dynasties like the Nalas, Chalukyas, and Kakatiyas.
The museum features an extensive collection of stone sculptures, ancient coins, and epigraphical records. The artifacts were primarily recovered from local excavation sites and ancient temple ruins in regions such as Barsoor, Bhongpal, and Adenga.
Gold Coin Hoard: Includes 32 rare gold coins unearthed during excavations at Adenga. Religious Relics: Houses significant Buddhist and Jain remains, including a Mahavir Swamy idol from Kuruspal and Buddhist Chaitayas from Bhongpal, proving the region's multi-religious past.
