Founded by artist D.D. Rege, who was active in the Indian freedom struggle, the museum preserves the material heritage of nearly 70 saints. It is housed within a private residence (Marathe household) and aims to bring recognition to the committed lives of spiritual figures from across India.
The museum consists of a single gallery containing over 150 articles and a comprehensive collection of photographs. The items were collected by D.D. Rege between 1961 and 1999, many through personal meetings with the saints.
Sant Paraphernalia: A rare assembly of personal belongings from various religious traditions, including articles from Gadge Baba and Meher Baba. The collection is rotated twice a year to ensure preservation and variety for returning visitors.
