Established in 1999 under the initiative of the Department of History, the museum aims to preserve the traditional culture and local potentiality of the Kaliabor sub-division. It serves as a full-fledged institution for popularizing the history and culture of the region among students and the local society.
The collection includes Assamese handicrafts, traditional agricultural and domestic tools, ethnic ornaments, musical instruments, and rare manuscripts that reflect the social and material history of the local communities.
Sanchi Manuscripts: Rare ancient texts written on the bark of the Sanchi (Agar) tree. 100-Year-Old Stone Plate: Featuring an inscription of Narayanam (sacred God). Archaeological Earthenware: Includes a pot found during pond excavation believed to belong to the pre-Ahom period.
