Established in 2002 by Prashant and Rekha Lahoti, Kalakriti Art Gallery is one of Hyderabad’s premier private art institutions. It was founded with the mission to bridge the gap between traditional Indian art forms and contemporary global aesthetics. The gallery serves as a dynamic platform for both established masters and emerging talent, frequently hosting national and international exhibitions.
The gallery maintains a diverse collection ranging from contemporary paintings, sculptures, and installations to traditional folk art. It features works from the Bengal School, modern Indian abstractionists, and unique photographic archives. The collection is known for its depth in contemporary Indian art and its focus on experimental media.
The gallery is associated with the Prshant Lahoti Collection, which houses one of the world's largest private collections of vintage maps of India, dating from the 15th to the 19th century. It also features a rare collection of colonial-era "Company School" paintings and early topographical prints.
