Museum Introduction

Located in Kaladhungi, this museum is housed in the former winter residence of Edward James "Jim" Corbett, the renowned hunter-turned-conservationist. Established to honor his contributions to wildlife preservation, the bungalow was converted into a museum after he left for Kenya in 1947. It serves as a vital gateway to understanding the history of the Corbett National Park region.

General Collections

The collection features personal belongings of Jim Corbett, including furniture, manuscripts, and sketches. It also displays various hunting trophies, maps of his expeditions, and early photographs of the Kumaon hills and its wildlife.

Unique Historical Collections

The museum preserves original weapons and personal belongings attributed to Rani Lakshmibai and other revolutionaries of the 1857 Uprising. It also features rare 4th-century sculptures from the Gupta and Chandela periods.
