Museum Introduction

Established in 2001, the Goa Science Centre & Planetarium is a constituent unit of the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), functioning under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Located on a 5-acre campus in Miramar, Panaji, it serves as a primary hub for science popularization in the state. The institution aims to inculcate scientific temper through interactive "edutainment" and hands-on explorations of technological concepts.

General Collections

The centre houses several permanent galleries including the 'Fun Science Gallery', 'Mirror Magic', and 'Science of Oceans'. The outdoor Science Park features life-size prehistoric animal models and large-scale interactive physical science exhibits.

The 'Science of Oceans' gallery is a distinctive collection focused on marine science and oceanography, specifically highlighting the maritime geography and biodiversity of the Arabian Sea.
