Museum Introduction

Inaugurated on February 22, 1991, the museum is housed in a single-story building. It serves as a central repository for artifacts found across the Warangal region, bridging the gap between prehistoric life and the sophisticated medieval culture of the Kakatiyas.

General Collections

The museum boasts a diverse collection of nearly 1,200 artifacts, including prehistoric stone tools, Buddhist and Jain sculptures, Kakatiya-era temple fragments, and medieval arms. It also features a gallery of coins and rare palm-leaf manuscripts.

Unique Historical Collections

Marble Buddha: A serene, large marble statue of the Buddha, reflecting the ancient Buddhist influence in the region. Wood Fossils: Incredibly rare wood fossils dating back approximately 25 lakh (2.5 million) years. Ranabheri: A massive, 11-foot-high iron drum used to rally troops before battle.
