Inaugurated on August 31, 1997, the center was established by the Government of India to propagate scientific knowledge to tourists, students, and rural communities. It blends interactive learning with entertainment, serving as a major center for educational tourism along the Bay of Bengal coast.
The center features several thematic galleries with hands-on exhibits covering physical sciences, life sciences, and reflections. It includes an outdoor Science Park with large-scale interactive models and a dedicated National Science Camp for student residential programs.
Jurassic Park with Light & Sound Show: A distinctive prehistoric park featuring life-sized, animated dinosaur models that move and emit sound to educate visitors on the Mesozoic era.
