Museum Introduction

The museum was formally organized in 2003 within the palace complex built by Maharaja Suraj Mal (1756–1763 AD) and his father, Badan Singh. It showcases the opulent lifestyle of the Jat royalty, with the primary galleries housed in the Gopal Bhavan and Kishan Bhavan.

General Collections

The collection includes 547 documented articles ranging from royal furniture and Persian carpets to historical documents and weaponry. The galleries are set within original royal chambers, including the Man Singh Hall, the Billiards Room, and the Zenana (Queen’s) apartments.

Unique Historical Collections

War Trophies from Mughal Forts: Features a black marble throne and a white marble swing (Noorjahan ka jhoola) brought from Delhi’s Red Fort by Raja Jawahar Singh in 1764. The complex also houses a looted gun captured from the Agra Fort.
