Museum Introduction

Established in the historic residence of Haji Abdulla Saheb, the founder of Corporation Bank, the museum chronicles the evolution of Indian banking and currency. It was officially converted into a heritage museum to preserve the legacy of the bank since its inception in 1906.

General Collections

The museum houses a vast collection of over 1,400 coins and various currency notes. It also features a significant philatelic section with a wide array of postage stamps documenting India's postal history.

Unique Historical Collections

Ancient & Medieval Coinage: Features rare coins dating back to 400 BC, including specimens from the Maurya, Kushan, Satavahana, and Gupta empires. It also contains an extensive series of Mughal-era coins and regional coinage from the Vijayanagara and Maratha periods.

Notes The museum building itself is a landmark, impeccably maintained for over a century. Visitors often note the "Financial Temple" atmosphere, where banking history is presented through the lens of local entrepreneurship and national development.
