Inaugurated on October 29, 2012, the COAL HERITAGE PARK & MUSEUM was the brainchild of professional mining engineers to preserve the legacy of the Assam Railways & Trading Company (AR&TC), which began mining here in 1881.
The museum features extensive displays of vintage mining machinery, geological samples, and models illustrating both underground and opencast mining techniques.
World War II Artifacts: Houses rare documents, typewriters, and cyclostyle machines from the WWII era, as Margherita was a strategic base for the Allied forces during the construction of the Stillwell Road.
